Default Aquafina is just tap water says Pepsi

Argggh... I used to buy this in packs and now to find out it's just tap water pisses me off. I could've gotten water from my sink! Here's the story Aquafina tap water.

I don't really see the fuzz about buying bottled water from shop, I drink tap water, it's cheaper, quicker to get and tastes better
Oh yeah, bottled water has more bacteria than tap water.

I always knew since my guys at Pepsi told me that on numerous occasions. LOL One of the guys at Coca Cola said the same thing. Most likely Dasani will be next to announce it.

Read in newspaper. Its NOT TAP WATER. It comes from the source of tapwater then they purify it. Dont think its the same thing that comes out of your sink >_>

LOL. Anyone who drinks bottled water when there's perfectly good, safe tap or fountain water available deserves to be bilked out of their money.

You could get a water filter if you really want filtered water. I did but 'tis damn annoying changing the filter all the time.

High fructose corn syrup soda FTW. Also can i get a filter to filter the lead out of my tap water? Please

As an aside, in some places in Florida earlier this year, people had to buy bottled water because the state pumped out too much water and there wasn't enough rain. In some places like the Miami area, this led to sea water getting into the water table.

And of them all, daisini tastes the worst.

Theres only 2 types of bottled water. Public Source or Natural Source.

Dasani and Aquafina are both public source water, ie: tap water.

They are then PURIFIED through reverse osmosis. This is different from filtering, because filtering attempts to remove impurities, while those processes convert water from one form to another and leave the impurities behind.

I know Dasani adds trace minerals because purified water by itself is REALLY tasteless.

Yes, water does have a taste. The minerals in the water are what give it taste. I personally like my local tap water, since it tastes good. After you filter it, the taste changes. My workplace has different tasting tap water, and very significant change of taste after filteration.

The problem with Dasani is their mineral mix is just terrible tasting.

The thing you can be rest assured is that reverse osmosis or distilled water will have zero chance of biological contaminants, vs natural source water.

Correct. Bottled water is different from tap water, but only slightly different. The last two places I've lived, tap water was undrinkable. They found a bunch of dead fish and alligators in the water source in one place, and there is too much DDT in the water where I live now (a major carcinogen). In those cases, bottled water is significantly different (the tap even tastes wretched). The first bottled water, however, was Evian, which was named so because of what the founder thought of people that bought is product (spell it backwards). Now, whether bottled water is beneficial or not is debatable.

Out of curiosity, how much is too much? From what I have heard, you need a biggish dose of the stuff to cause you health problems.

How to make bottled water:

1: Grab a bottle.
2: Run water through brita (this is how they "purify it")
3: Add something... salt, sodium, baby sweat, really whatever you can get your hands on.
4: Slap on label
5: Sell at 1000 times it's own worth.

Default Bottled water is bad for the environment

A lot of the bottled water is purified tap water and has been for many years. Sparkletts is LA tap water, and for that reason some of the safest and cleanest in the world (LA Dept of Water and Power takes great pride in sending out their EPA test results every year).

Bottled water is bad for the environment anyway. Get yourself a reusable bottle and a Brita or Pur filter for your faucet and refill your reusable bottle.

You know, if you run tap water through a good filter, and leave it in the fridge (the chlorine will disappear) it tastes the same as any bottle water.
